BUD NOLAN

VICE PRESIDENT of OPERATIONS

Growing up in Williamsburg, VA in the 70’s, if you weren’t working in a restaurant or hotel, you didn’t have a job. Bud Nolan started bussing tables and washing dishes in a Big Boy restaurant at age 16 and never looked back.

His career has included General Manager positions at a dozen different hotels, ranging from 100-room roadside Holiday Inns to a 210-room downtown DoubleTree by Hilton with 30,000 sq ft of meeting space. In addition, Bud owned and operated three independent restaurants for 15 years, which gives him an owner’s perspective.

Regionally, Bud has managed hotel operations in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, New York, and Rhode Island. Additionally, he has supervised hotels in Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, South Carolina, Texas, and Washington, DC. This broad geographical experience allows Nolan to analyze a property’s market and position the asset to take advantage of prevailing conditions quickly. Bud is well versed in all facets of hotel operations but has particular skills in sales, food & beverage, renovations, and revenue management.

When not on the road, Bud resides in his hometown of Williamsburg, VA with his wife of 30 years, Karen. Empty nesters, they use any spare time to travel and enjoy experiences rather than things. Both Bud and Karen, having owned restaurants and a wine shop, are oenophiles and inveterate foodies as they continue to cook and sip their way through life!
